Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes with Pork Steak

Decided on a nice fall day to make a favorite and try my new Pampered Chef Rapid-Prep Mandoline out! I also tried out my my new Sauce Whisk and my favorite 2-qt. Enameled Cast Iron Baker !!! For my spices I substituted our French Onion Dip Mix except for some smoked paprika on top. I will tell you this made making scalloped potatoes super easy!!!

I modified this recipe by changing the spices and adding the precooked pork cut in small chunks between the potato layers. https://www.the-girl-who-ate-everything.com/scalloped-potatoes/#mv-creation-56

Until next time enjoy the season and have a good meal with your loved ones and friends! Joe

California Dreaming…

Had the opportunity to go visit our daughter and her family. Went on some fantastic hikes! These were taken at Patrick’s Point in Humboldt County. Red and Jess are the two beautiful ladies and our three youngest grandchildren are Hannah, Benjamin and Nathaniel! If you click on the photos they will show the whole larger picture of each!

Hope you have a great week and stay safe out there!!! Joe

Interesting discovery…

Headed out to my car this morning for lunch and it had been snowing and then changed to warmer weather which melted it… I got in and looked at the windshield and just had to take a picture… here is what I saw:

Hope you find it as amazing as I did!

I used the funny little fish eye setting to get this picture and love it!

Until next time watch for amazing discoveries throughout your day!

You never know where you will find them! Joe

On August 5, 1934, one year after the creation of the New Deal Civilian Conservation Corps, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt toured Glacier National Park in this 1927 Cadillac Phaeton

Trip to Historic Flight Museum in Spokane WA March 13, 2021

Visit them online at https://historicflight.org/

My scale modeling buddy Joe McCaslin asked if I wanted to check out an air museum in Spokane for some inspiration and pics and of course I said yes!!! This is at Felts Field off of Trent Ave and well worth the visit! The owner was there and the staff was amazing! They know their aircraft well and if you go take the tour!!! Awesome history and will answer your questions on each plane and vehicle in the building and outside too! I will be presenting this blog in multiple posts over the next few days as there are a bunch of photos so follow along and enjoy and if you get the chance go see it in person! All the aircraft are operational and they will take you on flights at times for a separate fee in some of their aircraft!

Douglas DC-3 sitting right outside and you can tour the inside as it was converted to a private plane for passengers and is decorated in Pan Am Livery now

This next plane is an Amphibious DHC-2 Float Beaver which John Sessions has flown approximately 700 hours, mostly in Arctic Canada and Alaska.

They also have a 1937 White Model 706 Bus from the glory days of Glacier National Park and yes that roof does open so you could stand up and enjoy the scenery!!!

Next up is a Spitfire MK. IXE that has Czechoslovakian Markings

US Army Air Reconnaissance Piper L-4 Grasshopper Plane

This is the first of many parts: stay tuned for more updates in the coming days!

All the best to you and stay safe, Joe C

Last day of 2020 New Years Eve Morning!
