Another Record of the World for you…

Been a while since I pulled another record out of the proverbial hat so here goes:

Longest Baseball Game was played in the American League by

Chicago 7 vs. Milwaukee 6 on Tuesday, May 8, 1984 at Comiskey Park for 25 innings lasting a mere 8 hours  06 minutes long!

The longest in the National League was played by

San Francisco 8 vs. New York 6 on Sunday, May 31, 1964 at Shea Stadium and lasted for 23 innings at 7 hours 23 minutes!

During the 1908 season the Detroit Tigers played in the most consecutive extra-inning games, September 9th through the 13th, five games featuring fifty-four innings.

Did you know that the 1943 Boston Red Sox played in a Major League record thirty-one extra inning games during the same season?

On May 31,1964, (Game 1 | Game 2) San Francisco played in New York during a double header and the two teams set the Major League record for most innings played in one day with thirty-two.
