Laughter: the key to happiness and better health!

There really is something to the Scripture that says ” A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance, But by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.”  Proverbs 15:13  or the more familiar one, Proverbs 17:22  “A merry heart does good, like medicine,  But a broken spirit dries the bones.”

The following are some quotes I came across that speak volumns on this!  Hope you ponder them and find some joy even in the trials of life!

“I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it’s
the thing I like most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It’s probably the
most important thing in a person.” – Audrey Hepburn

“Holding on to anger, resentment and hurt only gives
you tense muscles, a headache and a sore jaw from clenching your teeth.
Forgiveness gives you back the laughter and the lightness in your life.” –
  —  Joan Lunden

“The most wasted of all days is one without laughter.” –   —  E E Cummings

“Against the assault of laughter nothing can stand.” –   —  Mark Twain

“Laughter is the closest distance between two people.” –   —  Victor Borge

“Laughter is America’s most important export.” –  —  Walt Disney

“Laughter is contagious. When you need a chuckle, call a humor-buddy or hang around with people who make you laugh.” –  —  Allen Klein

“There is little success where there is little laughter.” –   —  Andrew Carnegie

“Laughter is the sun that drives winter from the human face.” –   —  Victor Hugo

“Pick the day. Enjoy it – to the hilt. The day as it comes. People as they come… The past, I think, has helped me appreciate the present – and I don’t want to spoil any of it by fretting about the future.” – Audrey Hepburn

“You can turn painful situations around through laughter. If you can find humor in anything, even poverty, you can survive it.”  –   —  Bill Cosby

“Nobody ever died of laughter.” –   —  Max Beerbohm

“Laughter can help relieve tension in even the heaviest of matters.” –   —  Allen Klein

“Let there be more joy and laughter in your living.”  –   —  Eileen Caddy

Then there was that funny little song in the Disney Movie Mary Poppins about laughing… I will close off with the lyrics for you!  Have a great week and remember to laugh!  Joe

I love to laugh Ha Ha HaHa
Loud and long and clear
I love to laugh
Ho  Ho Ho Ho
It’s getting worse every year
The more I laugh
Ha Ha Ha
The  more I fill with glee
And the more the glee
He He He He
The more I’m a  merrier me!
He He He
It’s embarassing
The more I’m a merrier me
The more I’m a merrier me
He he he he he

Some people laugh  through their noses
Sounding something like this
m-hm m-hm-hm-hm-hm

Some people laugh through their teeth goodness sakes
Hissing  and fizzing like snakes
Not at all attractive to my way of  thinking!

Some laugh too fast

Some only blush

Others, they twitter like birds

You  know you’re as bad as he is?

Then there’s the kind
That can’t make up  their mind
heh-heh hah he

When things strike me as funny
I can’t hide it  inside
And squeak
As the squeaklers do

I’ve got to let  go
With a whole
Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha
And I
Ha Ha Ha Ha

We  love to laugh Ha Ha HaHa
Loud and long and clear
We love to laugh
Ho Ho  Ho
So everybody can hear
The more we laugh
Ha Ha Ha (oh my  goodness!)
The more we fill with glee
And the more the glee
He He He  He
The more we’re a merrier we!
